So, what are we doing for the draft exactly? Lets start with a vote for whether it is a 1 day draft or 1 player per day draft...

I vote for the draft every player in 1 day draft
Like Connor said, I see this as being one big clusterfuck. I'm glad I don't have any draft dollars. I'll take my high waiver position and pick up someone good in the middle of the season, thank you very much.
I think we need some simple ground rules for the 1 day 1 player auctioned draft. I propose the following:
1. The auctioneer names the player they want to bid on (and the price) by 8PM of day one.
2. If, by 12PM the next day you have not made a bid, you are no longer eligible to bid on the player.
3. If you make a bid and someone subsequently makes a bid higher than you are willing to pay then you must declare yourself "out".
4. Bidding ends at 8PM.
5. If a bidder is unable to bid at 8PM they must arrange a time between 12PM and 8PM to do a 5-10 minute conference call/IM chat with all of the active bidders to determine the winning bid.
(obviously the times can be changed)
i have a much easier idea. we can set this up e-bay style, where everyone sends in their hidden bid, and the winning bid will be $1 more than the second highest bid. this avoids the clusterfuck; as long as you put down the price you're willing to pay at some point during the day, you don't need to worry about the deadline. i can start looking into how to do this, but i've got a couple ideas that i think would work. it changes the dynamics slightly, but the fact that we're not going to meet in person does that already. what do people think of that?
I was going to suggest a silent auction myself. Perhaps we could all email our bids to an impartial third party (or would that be a fifteenth party?)
Personally, I don't have Internet access from 8 AM eastern until 7 PM eastern.
only other thing i would add to that steve is a priority....
In other words, take me for example.... I obviously can get whoever I want as #1. However, say I bid my maximum on 3 players, how do we know which one I get?
Just send out a list of everyone available (or just wait for yahoo's list to come out) and have everyone submit in even a 2-3 day draft period their $$ amount per person they want to bid on and the priority in which they want that person. Turns the whole thing into a big silent auction more or less.
Upside- you can sneak a lesser known or desired player pretty cheap...
Downside- you can sneak a lesser known player pretty cheap
oh and speaking of internet, I'm moving tomorrow to an apartment and i have no idea how long it will be before I have internet again, so if something happens, call me.
I was thinking more along the lines of taking it one player at a time.
