What happens if Tokarz and Bick never join the league?
I'm starting to worry that this is a real possibility. For fuck's sake, we've even already got Markham in the league, who usually only logs in to take Carlos Beltran on and off of the disabled list.

Draft Format
Lance asked this earlier and nobody responded, so I will re-ask multiple questions concerning the draft format. I know we will all bid on players like last year. Will there be 3 rounds, more or less? Will there be a snake draft FA thing after the last round like a few years ago, or does everyone go to waivers and we go from there? When does the draft start? Are we implementing rules like bids in on Friday, results out on Sunday so that anyone who opposes last minute trades has a day to complain about conspiracies and not getting the players he wants? Will the deadline be in EST? How do you handle rosters above 27 in the draft? Are players who are dropped in the draft eligible to be drafted? How to handle trades within the draft?
My votes are:
* 3 Rounds
* No snake draft. Everyone falls to waivers and you go from there.
* Draft starts the first week of March
* No rules about 1 day to complain about trades.
* Deadline is in EST
* Roster above 27: You must include who you would drop in your bid. If you dont, you have 24 hours from the time results are released to post who you are dropping. If you dont, players are dropped in order of the lowest ranked player per Yahoo's rankings.
* Players dropped in the draft are not eligible to be drafted.
* Trades within the draft: If both players do not confirm a trade by the imposed deadline for a certain round, the trade does not take effect until the next round. ie: if Connor and I do a last minute trade, but I confirm at 12:01 and the round deadline is 12:00, it doesn't count until the next round. Also, in this scenario, Connor should post that this trade is null and void if not accepted by 12:00, if infact that is what he wants (I could easily see this scenario happening). Otherwise, it is a legal trade even though Connor didn't exactly get what he wanted.
If anyone else thinks of anything, ask away. Commissioner Smith, what say you about all of this?

Do I get some sort of bonus for being the only person not in violation of the roster size restrictions? I think I should. 10 points added to my final results at the end of the season? Sounds fair.

Auction Keepers?
I was wondering if you guys would be interested in doing a keepers league live auction draft. Yahoo has settings that allow you to assign keepers per team as well as values per keeper now, so we wouldn't have to track any of that stuff. Is anyone interested?
The only thing we would have to do is figure out how to inflate/deflate player values, and I would vote to make the system as simple as possible:
1) We decide on 1 or 2 independent player evaluation systems and agree to use their player prices based on our league settings.
2) Change player values based on the following at the end of each season:
* If the player is not on a team, auction draft for him.
* If the player is on a team, inflate or deflate their value at 50% (negotiable) of the difference in prices.
- Example 1: I get Hanley young and cheap for $10 and our system values him @ $40 for the next 3 years. I get to benefit from him @ $25 in year 1, then $32 in year 2, then $36 in year 3.
- Example 2: I have Jake Peavy @ $40, but now he sucks and is only worth $15 the next 3 years. I can either drop him, or suck it up and pay him $28 next year, then $21, etc.
Obviously, this is just an idea and would be open for criticism, but before everyone starts posting their ideas on how to fix the league (Connor), I was wondering if there was any interest from the current keepers league. I dont want to go get random people to fill out this league. If this works out well, I would even be in favor of making this the only Keepers league (because lets face it, my avg SP age is 26 (not counting Matusz and Porcello) and my avg starting offensive player is 27....my team is gonna be really good for a while, even if I dont pick up any prospects for the next 3 years. A new league would be fun).
The thing I really like about the keepers auction is that everyone has the same salary. If you are in last and you want to invest in prospects, you can make your own salary by dropping players, trading, etc. We will have teams that have 1 or 2 great years, then are destroyed by high salaries the next year. I think it would be a lot of fun.

Draft Format
Just wondering what the specifics of the draft are - I know "Nomar" said it would work as it has before, but we havent had the exact same format each year. Essentially, I wanted to know if there will be a set number of rounds and will be a snake draft after everyone has used all their draft dollars?

$57 Draft Dollars to the Highest Bidder
So after my trade with Andy this evening, I have $57 draft dollars remaining. I don't want them. I'd like pitching and an increase to my waiver spot for the start of the season.

Trade Completed
Zach trades Gio Gonzalez and Jenrry Meija to Andy S for $165 DD's.
...yes it is a great bargain, but I was going to have to drop them anyway. And on that note, I am dropping 1 more player, so if anyone wants to bid on a player for cheap, let me know before the deadline for dropping to 24.
