The Kyle-Connor-Zach-Elliot-Wieters Love Pentagon

Perhaps this trade debachle should serve as a warning - mainly that trades lacking full disclosure might not be a good idea. However, I think the most logical move would be that the original Ibanez trade be ruled void - since the terms of the trade were (generally) Ibanez for "whatever it will take to get Wieters" and one party did not get their side of the deal, then the trade seems to be void to me. I doubt Elliot will have any serious objections to this.

And since I dont think Ibanez was even moved on the spreadsheet (and Elliot did not give up any draft dollars), there is not anything technically to change.

Honestly, no need to get too angry, winter is almost over, baseball is back, and I am helping protect the homeland - so you should all feel really safe... um... well, at least baseball is back.

OK well I guess I'll put my two cents in, qualified with the note that I'm not entirely sure of all that's going on.

1) It appears that Kyle made a deal with Elliot that he will give Elliot Ibanez for whatever amount of money above Kyle's purse it takes to get Weiters. Since it appears he made this deal with Elliot before Elliot made the deal with Zack, Kyle's deal should hold precedent. So at this point it is my opinion that Kyle should have all of his money plus all of Elliot's money available to him to get Weiters. To me, If Kyle's deal was made before Zachs, then Zach's deal can really only take place after the completion of Kyles deal (because as I understand it there was no limit to the amount of money Elliot would give Kyle in order to get Weiters).

2) So much crazy shit goes on in this league, I don't see any reason why Kyle should not be able to make such a deal with Elliot.

3) Therefore, if the total amount of Kyle's money plus the total of Elliot's money is greater than Connor's bid, Kyle should get Weiters (Sorry, Connor. This is just how I honestly see it).

4) Of course it is troublesome that Elliot never confirmed the deal. This only holds up is Elliot agrees now that that was, indeed, the deal agrees upon. If Elliot says he never made the deal then there is really nothing we can do (sorry Kyle) and the only fair thing to do would be to put Ibanez back with Kyle's team.

Thought?

I love Fantasy Baseball!

When I made the trade with Elliot, I asked him first how much money he was giving Kyle. He said it was 100 draft dollars, not whatever it takes to get Wieters. This is why I think I deserve my draft dollars, because according to Elliot, he only owed Kyle a max of 100 dollars as insurance to get Wieters. IF Elliot was lying and the deal is "whatever it takes for Wieters" I will forfeit my money since it is fair. However, according to Elliot, this is not the case.

As for the other stuff, I dunno. Connor and I did everything fair. Kyle, you are the one who made a trade and didnt tell anyone the exact specifics until after midnight here, and Elliot never confirmed that either. It sucks that you are getting screwed, but you have weeks to tell us the ibanez trade details and you never did.

Lessons learned from this...maybe we should have more defined rules. Maybe a no trading clause 24 hrs before deadline. Maybe midnight eastern needs to be specified. Maybe the top 1/2 of the league shouldnt even be involved in this next year if our goal is to really help out the lower teams. Either way, assuming the Kyle-Elliot deal was 100 dollars as Elliot told me, then there isnt any issue here other than Kyle being pissed that he didnt get Wieters.

I did you CC AND Webb Kyle, you cant be that upset at you offseason haul.
